FTA: "I honestly think the best way to do away with it is get rid of friends and shouts, I really don’t see a point other than shameless self promotion, if you want friends go to facebook or a bar or something, I just don’t think it has much of a place on digg other than to create the atmosphere we are all complaining about. -kawaiirobo Solution: eliminate “friends” on digg. bxblox "

decent solution, but it is too harsh.
The problem with digg today is that there are groups of people who digg stories. It is no longer about the WHAT, and more about the WHO.
What digg needs to do is make all users anonymous in incoming, and delete shouts for incoming as well. Front page is a different matter... but what is really important is that 'digg should be about content'
it hasn't been like that for a very long time. I want to see it back that way.
